A little excitement near Valdez, AK


Yesterday when exploring the area near Valdez we happened across this young bear. He was dining and started with a salad of the greens he is in.  LOL

A Sampling of images from our trip.


  A moose cow and her yearling calf we believe. One of the many glaciers we passed by during our drive across Canada. The Homer spit extends quite a distance into Kachemak Bay with the Kenai mountains across the bay.

Dalton Highway and Alyeska Pipeline


Thankfully the Dalton Highway is a bit less crooked than the Alyeska Pipeline, just a bit. The pipeline was built with all the crooks to allow for contraction and expansion during the extreme temperature changes summer through winter.

Arctic Circle


We returned today to Fairbanks after visiting the Arctic Circle via the Dalton Highway, also known as the “Haul Road”. Quite a drive on some pavement and lots of gravel road.
