Today we are heading up to Brainard Lake where there is no cell signal or WiFi We will be “off the grid” for a few days. This morning while watching the live broadcast from Second Baptist church in Springfield, Missouri I noticed this outcropping above the parking lot at the Library here in Estes Park, Colorado. Hope you agree it is worth sharing? It appeared to me to be a bear with a grin.

Here are two more from near the library in Estes Park. The very small blue flowers were difficult to capture. The autofocus did not seem to like that color. 😎

For the critics, I know these are over sharpened. Only way I could get any detail.

I really liked the colors of this flower. Bright and cheerful!

Today we parked near the library. Behind the parking lot was a quiet little brook. All along the brook there were wildflowers. Below are two examples.

I thought these little almost purple flowers were especially pretty!

There were lots of these wild daisies.

Mittens is much better this morning. The new prescription food is agreeing with him.

We are now heading back up to the Brainard lake area, hoping the big bull moose is still there.

Since the cat got sick this morning we have a change of plans. We will be here at Peak One campground near Frisco, Colorado the next two nights. Visit to the vet and a trial of change of food to get Mittens more fibre. Thought it would be easier to stay in the area while seeing how the new food works rather than having to drive back from near Ward, Colorado to get a large bag if it works. Below is the view from the campground.

Just a few from the last couple of days. Not wild animals, just wild berries and some weird cones on a tree trunk.

This was several times larger than a dandelion.

We have no idea if these cones normally grow from the trunk or if some animal deposited them there.

We found these wild flowers and very tall wild grass near the campground we are in near Aspen, Colorado. While it is easy to find patches of the same flowers getting a selection of various flowers is not.

To add a little variety we though these very tall wide grasses might be fitting.

When we get back home several of the images on our blog will be added to our Web site.

We were able to find a campsite for the next two nights near Aspen. We went into Aspen after securing the campsite. Pretty expensive town. The Starbucks I usually get for a little over $5.00 is over $7.00 in Aspen. I probably won’t be drinking two a day. 😁

Below is a panorama of our campsite for the next two nights. As you can see we are nestled among the aspen trees.

While visiting fellow Roadtrek owners at their campground two nights ago and enjoying S’mores over their campfire we glanced up to view this fiery sunset. We were near Leadville, Colorado and the campfire felt really nice.

We will be leaving Leadville tomorrow, heading towards Aspen. The big bike race is Saturday and we hope to beat the traffic. 😎
