Ground squirrels in Colorado

Golden mantled ground squirrels, appears to be a mother and one of its young. They seem to be enjoying the sun which has been a bit scarce in Colorado the last week or so.

one of many

One of the many lakes in the mountains of Colorado. The aspens are just beginning to change.

Our sympathies to all those being affected on the front range by all the rain. We were on that side of the mountains for a day and the rain and flooding is unbelievable.

Composite image

Composite of eleven images of an American Bald Eagle gliding in to its perch. The images were taken in southwest Missouri a few years ago. I hope you enjoy imaging seeing this eagle gliding to its perch. To view it larger you may have to highlight it and open it in a photo viewing software.

going through

Going back through some older images and found this one of a pair of trumpeter swans. They were in the Red Rocks National Wildlife Refuge in southern Montana. Their heads are red from feeding on the bottom of the lakes there. Here is a link to more information on Red Rocks NWR:

The smaller bird in the image is a widgeon.

Thank you,

Big Horn Sheep Rams

This flock of big horn sheep rams well above the timberline at Rocky Mountain National Park. It was exciting to me to get to see this many rams together.

Burrowing owlet

A burrowing owlet in easter Washington, testing its wings. Just a few minutes later this owlet took what appeared to be its first flight. All ended well with no mishaps.
