evil eye

It appears this burrowing owl adult may be giving me the “evil eye”? From our trip in 2010, taken in eastern Washington. Watching the burrowing owls and their owlets was great fun.

Happy Moose

The female moose that is beginning to shed her winter coat looks like she just heard a funny joke, or perhaps is just happy as spring has arrived.

Cinnamon teal, male

Here is a male cinnamon teal image from a trip a few years ago. Its head was all wet as it had been feeding.

Both adult Bald Eagles

Eventually I was able to get both the adult bald eagles with their heads up. Unfortunately it appears the immature eagle has lost its head. LOL

I think he just had it way down trying to get “firsts” on the breakfast the adult brought to the nest.

This nest

Male eagle may be thinking that the nest is getting a bit crowded? Two mature bald eagles and two immature but nearly flight ready eagles share this nest near the James river in SW Missouri.

Eagles

These two immature bald eagles seem to be asking the adult “What is Next for Breakfast?”. This image was taken very shortly after sunrise on the James River in Missouri. The immatures are getting very close to being ready to leave the nest. We just hope they return again next year.

American Bald Eagles at Breakfast

Early morning light and two mature with two immature bald eagles having breakfast near the James River in Missouri. The immatures are almost old enough to fly so the nest will be deserted until next year soon.
