Full moon

This image if of the full moon rising over Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge near Socorro, NM just after sunset. We have found Bosque quite nice in January. Not nearly as many people as in November and the wildlife is plentiful. We will have more images to post in the next few days.

Male and female Gambel’s Quail

I incorrectly identified these as California quail in an earlier post. These are Gambel’s quail. This male and female were near Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge near Socorro, NM. I really appreciated the pair getting so close together. The only thing that could have been better would have been to have a little more sunlight.

Another quail

I think this male California Quail may have been showing off for a nearby female.
