In the last few months we have traveled lots of miles. Two trips from Springfield, MO to El Paso, TX to visit Marilyn’s relatives. We had a very nice time while there.
Just recently we made our way back over the Houston area and finally had time to visit with the Short’s, our dear friends that live near Houston. Then we went down to the Texas valley near McAllen and visited a few state parks and wildlife refuges. We were able to add a few new bird images to our blog and when we get home we will add them to our Web site.
While the weather has been cool and windy here in south Texas we are glad we are not home where it is really cold and they are getting snow. We picked a good time to visit Texas. 🙂
I hope you enjoy our latest additions:
Below is great kiskadee perched in old tree.
Here is a pair of green-winged teal ducks
Below is white-faced ibis in winter colors
Below is a yellow-bellied flycatcher
Here is one of the chachalaca birds found in south Texas. It is about the size of a chicken and does not fly a lot. They run along the ground and tree branches.
