Birds in Colorado

Took a little time today to get a few images of a few birds here near Estes Park, Colorado.

A male house finch. Appears to be wondering if he knows me? 🙂

Above is a woodpecker, probably a downy.

A more customary position for a nuthatch, upside down and digging in the bark.

It is amazing the range of motion of a nuthatch’ head.

It appears that when they are unable to dig it out with their beak they resort to clawing.

Not sure of the identification of this bird. Just thought that since it posed so nicely for me I should include it.

Larry, The second photo is I believe a Downey Woodpecker and he is in the proper upright position. 🙂
