We have had an interesting few days since I last posted. From Scotts Bluff, Nebraska we traveled on north west into Dubois, Wyoming. The Wind river was raging with the snowmelt. We saw one farmstead that was flooded out and when we tried to obtain a campground in Du Bois they were both flooded out. We traveled on up toward Jackson, Wyoming and found a campground, Lava Mountain Campground. Fastest Wi-Fi we have ever had in a campground.
Below is a photo from Marilyn’s kitchen window of the view from the campsite.
After spending the night we headed down toward Jackson, Wyoming where I knew there was a Starbucks. This section of highway features some amazing views. The one below is of the grand Tetons from a pull out along this section of highway.
As it was somewhat early in the day after getting my Starbucks in Jackson we decided to head on North. Of course one of the most scenic spots along that route of which there are many is at Oxbow Bend on the Snake River. Below is an image we got there while we were having lunch. This one was also from Marilyn’s kitchen window. Part of the fascination of this scene is the portion of the Grand Teton mountains that you can see from there. It is a very popular stop for photographers and tourists.
