Falling Waters

While in Arkansas we also visited Falling Waters near Ben Hur, AR. It is a good thing I don’t name waterfalls. I probably would have called it Dripping Nose Waterfalls, see the foreground rock structure that reminds me of a person with a nose drip.   LOL

Here is a wider view of this waterfall.

Triple Falls waterfalls, AR

Marilyn and I just returned from a two day trip to Arkansas. Joined a few other members of the Southwest Missouri Camera Club for a short outing. Encountered lots of rain and fog. Fortunate to get a few breaks in the rain so we could get some waterfall images. This one was named Triple Falls by Tim Ernst and is a pretty impressive waterfall, over 40′ tall.

Observatory in the wildfire smoke

McDonald Observatory in the Ft. Davis fire smoke.

McDonald Observatory in the Ft. Davis fire smoke.

The smoke was thick from the fire north of Ft. Davis, Texas. We stopped at the observatory and were told Ft. Davis had no power and several of the roads in and out were closed. We decided to backtrack to the Interstate and continue on our return to Missouri via Mt. Magazine, AR.
