One variety of wildlife which seems to be plentiful in Denali are the caribou. We were fortunate to be able to see a few of the older bulls and many females during our bus ride. The tide to Eielson and back took about 8 hours. Although the scenery can be very pretty on a nice day when it is raining the wildlife is the most enjoyable part of the ride.
One of the large caribou bulls we got to see.
A small herd of caribou on one of the mountainsides.
Another very large bull caribou. As you can see his antlers are quite large. It appears he is stripping breakfast from a small tree.
Evidently he is one the rangers are tracking as he is wearing a GPS locator around his neck.
