Late yesterday we returned to civilization, that means Starbucks and cellular connection. LOL
We had a wonderful four days and three nights in the Porcupine mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We shared this experience with about 30 other Roadtreks. Made some new friends and renewed old friendships. We met face-to-face with the young couple that purchased Geraldine II.
After a short visit to American RV in Grand Rapids for some warranty work (thank you Roadtrek!) Geraldine III performed flawlessly. As it was pretty darn cool (lower 40’s) we ran the furnace every night and woke with almost as much voltage as we had when we went to bed.
The gathering of Roadtrek’s was organized by Mike Wendland and Yan Seiner. A big thank you to them and to Roadtrek for assisting in the gathering.
The Upper peninsula was ablaze in color. Below is a short video of a very small portion of the drive along the S. Boundary Rd. of the Porcupine Mountains State Park Park.
One of the icons of these state park is the Lake of the Clouds. A photo of the lake from atop the mountain that overlooks it is below.
Below is another photo from the top of the mountain looking the other direction, away from the Lake of the Clouds.
Another big thank you to Mike Wendland, who started the Roadtrekking: The Group forum on Facebook.
