Texas Gulf Coast and Bosque del Apache NWR, New Mexico

During our recent trip to El Paso, Texas and Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico we dropped by to visit Ken and Dottie Short near Houston. They kindly escorted us to Goose Island State Park for some visiting time and some photo opportunities. Some of those images along with others from Bosque are below.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Today we drove the one way road up to the top of Long’s Peak. Even though we left before sunrise the wildlife was not cooperative. We did find a couple of obliging animals and at least one scenic image, posted below.

Wyoming wildlife and scenes

Traveled across much of Wyoming the last two days. Stopped at Hutton Lake National Wildlife Reserve in southern Wyoming near Laramie for lunch. Discovered some lakes with a pair of American Avocets and several prairie dog villages. We also discovered a muskrat having lunch on one of the lakes. Below are a few images including a windmill and one of which we hopes shows the vastness of the Wyoming prairie.
